L’op\u00e9ration men\u00e9e au quartier Nsimeyong \u00e0 Yaound\u00e9 par les agents de la d\u00e9l\u00e9gation r\u00e9gionale des for\u00eats et de la faune du Centre et de la division r\u00e9gionale de la police judiciaire du Centre a permis de mettre la main sur un autre pr\u00e9sum\u00e9 trafiquant.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

Fin de course pour deux trafiquants de peaux d’animaux prot\u00e9g\u00e9s. Deux personnes dont un policier ont \u00e9t\u00e9 arr\u00eat\u00e9s \u00e0 la suite d’une op\u00e9ration de coup <\/p>\n\n\n\n

de poing men\u00e9e par les agents de la d\u00e9l\u00e9gation r\u00e9gionale des for\u00eats et de la faune du centre, en collaboration avec la division r\u00e9gionale de la police judiciaire du Centre.\u00a0 Ils tentaient de commercialiser les peaux de panth\u00e8re lorsque les forces de l’ordre les ont appr\u00e9hend\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les suspects ont \u00e9t\u00e9 interpell\u00e9s au quartier Nsimeyong avec les deux peaux de panth\u00e8re qu’ils avaient dissimul\u00e9es dans un sac. Ils font partie d’un r\u00e9seau de trafic entre le Gabon et le Cameroun et l’un des suspects est un policier qui utilise sa position pour assurer l’impunit\u00e9 du r\u00e9seau. Les peaux ont \u00e9t\u00e9 achemin\u00e9es clandestinement \u00e0 partir du Gabon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des personnes proches de l’affaire qui ont requis l’anonymat ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que les peaux \u00e9taient encore tr\u00e8s fra\u00eeches \u00e0 leur arriv\u00e9e au Cameroun et qu’elles avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 transport\u00e9es par l’un des suspects, qui est \u00e9galement chauffeur. Il a conserv\u00e9 les peaux dans sa r\u00e9sidence \u00e0 Tsinga pendant 10 jours afin de les faire s\u00e9cher au soleil pour les mettre en \u00e9tat avant de les commercialiser. L’op\u00e9ration a b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 de l’assistance technique d’une organisation sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e dans l’application des lois   fauniques connue sous le nom de The Last Great Ape Organisation (LAGA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les panth\u00e8res sont inscrites \u00e0 l’Annexe 1 de la Convention sur le commerce international des esp\u00e8ces de faune et de flore sauvages menac\u00e9es d’extinction (CITES), dont le Cameroun est signataire, et b\u00e9n\u00e9ficient ainsi du plus haut niveau de protection qui interdit toute forme de commerce de cette esp\u00e8ce. Selon la loi camerounaise de 2024 sur la faune sauvage, les suspects encourent une peine d’emprisonnement pouvant aller jusqu’\u00e0 20 ans et\/ou une amende pouvant atteindre 50 millions de FCFA s’ils sont reconnus coupables.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
